Richardson Grove Back in Court - We Need You!

We need your help! EPIC and our allies are back in court to defend the ancient redwoods of Richardson Grove State Park. Can you attend our court hearing to show your support of the grove too? Join us on Monday, June 26th at 10:15am at the Humboldt County Superior Courthouse located at 825 5th St, Eureka, CA 95501. We will meet in the entrance foyer past security before heading to the courtroom together. RSVP to our Facebook event and spread the word!

What’s at stake? Judge Canning of the Superior Court will hear two items. First, Caltrans is attempting to lift the existing injunction blocking their project issued in 2019. The agency argues that it has met the conditions required of it by Judge Neely. We disagree. Second, the court will hear Caltrans’ attempt to throw out our most recent lawsuit, filed in 2023. For both items, it is unlikely, but possible, that the judge will rule from the bench.

As ever, we are deeply thankful to our wonderful attorneys, Stuart Gross and Ross Middlemiss at Gross Klein PC, our sister organizations in the struggle, Californians for Alternatives to Toxics, the Center for Biological Diversity and Friends of Del Norte, and the many, many supporters and friends of Richardson Grove.
